Join me live at 4pm UK time for a the first showing of the video for Sigh Waltz - the first single from my new album Pocket Symphonies.
‘Do something pretty while you can. Don't be afraid. Skating a pirouette on ice is cool,’ wrote Stuart Murdoch of my favourite band Belle and Sebastian.
I’ve made my one goal in life to leave something pretty behind whilst I’m on this planet. I may not be be able to change the world but I am determined to throw some nice melodies into the universe in the hope that they bring someone joy for at least 5 minutes and I’m really proud of this one:
I’m delighted to share with you my first single from the new album Pocket Symphonies. This one is called Sigh Waltz and features guest performances by Marc Gallagher on piano and James Agg on double bass. I hope you’ll agree they’re very talented and I’m so thankful for their beautiful playing. The track was mixed and mastered by David Pick at FFG Studios, Tewkesbury.
The album ‘Pocket Symphonies’ features 10 original pieces, which are based on the songs featured in my Fingerstyle Ukulele book. The album versions vary from the original arrangements and act as little musical movements that highlight a particular emotion. It features guest turns from some brilliant players too. The album is being mixed and mastered now and should be ready by the end of this month/start of November. Please feel free to share the heck of this video. I’m really proud of this one.
Much love,
Matt
