I recently enquired about blank tab sheets to allow me to transfer sheet music in notation to tab.
I have GuitarPro software on my computer and realised it allows notation to be converted to ukulele tab.
I haven’t used it much but did a reasonable first attempt with Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge over troubled waters. Very very slow process . The bar auto corrections helped me decide which notes were needed to fit the time scale. Apart from a couple of occasions where I tried to use tie and it should have been a slur I thought I did Ok for a first attempt.
How have others got on with any software or apps for their uke adventure . I will attempt to put some of Jeff Peterson 20 practice studies for classical guitar in to tab and see if it converts nicely to uke. He has a similar uke book but don’t see the worth in a duplicate buy, similar with his classical pieces for baritone which I have already bought for low g uke. I need to stop buying books with only notation not realising they don’t have tab. I can sight read very slowly but not well enough to play from sheet music alone.

Hi David, it can be really useful to use programs and see what they throw up. I used to do it with Sibelius. I do find Sibelius more often than not creates tab that is not user friendly at all (playing notes on strings far apart etc) and you end up having to tweak a lot.
The main thing is to look out for notes that are out of the range of ukulele and see if transposing to a more uke friendly key helps.
